Wendy Williams is doubling down on her claims that she does not have frontotemporal dementia. The famous talk show host lambasted her diagnosis as “disgusting” and “fake” when she called into The Breakfast Club on Wednesday.

“That’s a very rare thing for anybody to have. I’m not incapacitated. I am not a baby,” Wendy stated. Her legal guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, responded to the public denial hours later by requesting another medical evaluation for Wendy in a court filing.

“In these statements, [Williams] has indicated that, in her opinion, she is not suffering from dementia and is not incapacitated,” the legal filing read.

Sabrina seeks “a new medical evaluation that will involve comprehensive neurological and psychological testing by a specialist in the field.” She claimed that Wendy’s “formal diagnosis” came from doctors at Weill Cornell Medical Center and said the host suffers from frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and primary progressive aphasia (PPA).

It went on to say that Wendy’s condition will “only get worse and there is no cure.” The filing also addressed the lawsuit filed against A&E Television Networks, Lifetime Entertainment and other affiliates after the docuseries Where Is Wendy Williams? Aired in February 2024.

“We are writing this letter today because, during a radio interview this morning, [Williams] discussed the A&E matter at some length and appeared to indicate that she does not want to proceed with the action,” the filing read.

Sabrina also said she has “no interest” in continuing litigation if “in the extremely unlikely event that the new medical examination finds that [Wendy] someone now has the mental capacity to direct” the lawsuit against A&E.

“The issue of whether [Williams] has the capacity to assess what is in her own best interests deserves renewed careful consideration by qualified experts, and should not be left to careless speculation in tabloids, radio, or on the Internet,” the filing furthered.

Wendy, in January, fired her court-appointed attorney, Linda Redlisky, as she attempts to get out of her guardianship. It came less than two weeks after Wendy’s family saud they were on the look out for an “esteemed and honest” lawyer to represent the former TV host in her legal battle.

In January, Wendy claimed on The Breakfast Club that she was “trapped” in an assisted-living facility in New York. “I am not cognitively impaired, but I feel like I am in prison. I am definitely isolated. To talk to these people who live here, that is not my cup of tea,” she stated.

Wendy also claimed at the time that she only has $15 to her name due to the legal guardianship.
