Reality star Teddi Mellencamp has shared a devastating update on her battle with melanoma, revealing that doctors have discovered five more tumors in her body. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 42, disclosed the news on Instagram, just weeks after undergoing surgery to remove four tumors from her brain.
Despite the alarming development, Mellencamp remains optimistic. She assured her followers that her medical team is confident immunotherapy and radiation can help shrink the tumors.
Doctors Find Three Tumors in Brain, Two in Lungs
Mellencamp posted a health update on Instagram, explaining that her latest CAT scan revealed three additional tumors in her brain and two in her lungs. She emphasized that these tumors are a direct result of her melanoma diagnosis, which she has been battling publicly.
The reality star was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday, only to receive the distressing news days later. However, she remains determined to fight, telling fans that she is staying positive. She shared a photo showcasing her new blonde wig, joking that while she likes shorter hair, she does not love the bald spots from her treatment.
Immunotherapy Treatment Set to Begin
Mellencamp is scheduled to begin immunotherapy treatment on Tuesday. While she remains hopeful, she acknowledged that the road ahead will be challenging. In addition to her health update, she addressed concerns about her return to her popular Two T’s in a Pod podcast, co-hosted with Tamra Judge.
She admitted that she is uncertain when she will be back but hopes to resume her role soon. “I miss laughing, I miss the pod, and I miss watching those ridiculous shows,” she shared. However, she emphasized the importance of listening to her body and following medical advice before making any commitments.
Support From Friends and Family
Since revealing her diagnosis, Mellencamp has received an outpouring of support from friends, family, and fans. Her former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star Kyle Richards and country singer Morgan Wade have publicly expressed their well-wishes.
Her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, also voiced his gratitude, thanking everyone for their prayers and support. The couple, despite their separation, has remained close, with Arroyave standing by her side throughout her cancer battle.
Following her brain surgery last month, Mellencamp expressed deep appreciation for the overwhelming encouragement she has received, saying her family is beyond grateful.
While the journey ahead remains uncertain, Mellencamp’s unwavering spirit and determination continue to inspire those following her health battle.
