Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola is about to enter an exciting new chapter. The Jersey Shore alum, 38, recently announced she is expecting her first child with fiancé Justin May, 36, after a long and emotional journey with in vitro fertilization (IVF).
The couple, who got engaged in 2023, faced heartbreaking setbacks on their path to parenthood. A source close to the pair revealed that their journey included a devastating pregnancy loss, but they remained determined.
“They had no idea how emotionally and physically challenging IVF would be,” the insider said. “But they refused to give up, and now they feel so blessed that this pregnancy is going well.”
Sammi and Justin shared the happy news on Instagram, revealing that their little one is due in August.
Support From ‘Jersey Shore’ Family
Since making her Jersey Shore: Family Vacation comeback after an 11-year break, Sammi has found overwhelming support from her castmates, especially Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.
“Snooki has been amazing,” the insider shared. “She has three kids, so she’s been offering tons of advice and is ready to help with anything Sammi needs.”
Throughout her pregnancy, Sammi has leaned on Justin, who has been by her side every step of the way.
“Justin has been incredible. He’s supported her through the highs and lows, and they’re over the moon about becoming parents,” the source said.
A Long-Awaited Dream Come True
Sammi first rose to fame as one of the original stars of Jersey Shore, where fans followed her tumultuous relationship with ex-boyfriend Ronnie Ortiz-Magro. After years out of the spotlight, she returned to reality TV and quickly reconnected with viewers.
Now, as she prepares for motherhood, Sammi is embracing this new chapter with gratitude.
“This baby means everything to them,” the source added. “They’ve been through so much, and now they’re just excited to meet their little one.”
With her Jersey Shore family cheering her on and Justin by her side, Sammi is ready for the next adventure—motherhood.
