Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have left the royal family behind, but the balance of power in their marriage seems firmly in Meghan’s hands, insiders claim.
After stepping down as senior royals in 2020, the couple pursued a new life in California, but sources suggest Harry is struggling to define his role while Meghan moves full speed ahead with her latest ventures.
“Harry didn’t know what to do with himself after Invictus,” an insider said, referring to the veteran-focused sporting event he founded. “It leaves a void, and this year was no exception.”
Meanwhile, Meghan, 43, is focused on her career. With her Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan debuting in March and the launch of her wellness brand, As Ever, she has been keeping those around her busy.
“It’s all about Meghan now,” the source added.
Meghan’s Growing Influence Over Harry
For years, critics have speculated about Meghan’s influence on Harry. Some royal experts, including journalist Tina Brown, believe he has prioritized his wife’s ambitions over his own.
Brown, who authored a biography on Princess Diana, recently suggested Harry has positioned himself in Meghan’s shadow. “He’s the most talented member of the royal family in terms of being a prince, but he’s put himself second to Meghan,” she remarked.
She also criticized Meghan’s decision-making, saying, “She has the worst judgment of anyone in the entire world. She gets it all wrong.”
Despite the outside noise, Harry remains devoted to his wife. He has publicly credited Meghan with helping him understand the impact of his royal upbringing and his mother’s death on his mental health.
“By all reports, he’s all in on her vision for their life,” the insider said.
The Future of Their Hollywood Dream
Since leaving the U.K., the Sussexes have faced an unpredictable road. While their early deals with Netflix and Spotify created buzz, not all of their projects have been successful. Now, Meghan’s upcoming Netflix show and As Everwellness brand could determine the future of their Hollywood ambitions.
Though their near-constant displays of affection suggest their relationship is as strong as ever, some question whether Harry is truly happy in his new role.
“She seems to have him under her spell,” the insider said. “Some might even go so far as to say it’s like he’s brainwashed.”
