Porsha Williams spoke out after her estranged husband, Simon Guobadia, landed in ICE custody, calling it disheartening on Instagram Stories. The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star said her focus now shifts to moving forward with her family. Guobadia’s detention at Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia, follows a failed citizenship bid, TMZ reports.
ICE Snags Guobadia
Guobadia, a Nigerian native, hit the U.S. in 1982 but overstayed his visa, leading to a 1985 deportation order. He pleaded guilty to bank and credit card fraud in 1987 and got deported again in 1992, only to return under a mystery identity. His 2016 citizenship try flopped, landing him in ICE’s grip this week, per Fox 5 Atlanta.
Williams posted after the news broke, saying his choices led to this mess. She filed for divorce in 2024 after 15 months of marriage, amid his legal woes. For now, ICE holds him as Trump’s mass deportation push rolls on, sources note.
Divorce and Defamation Clash
The couple’s split turned ugly with Guobadia suing Williams over social media posts about erectile dysfunction. He called them false and defamatory, though she never named him, E! News says. Her lawyer fired back, saying there’s no proof tying the posts to him—pure speculation, per In Touch.
Trump’s ICE raids, targeting unaccompanied minors too, add heat to Guobadia’s plight, ABC News reports. Williams stays quiet on that, prioritizing her next steps. Meanwhile, Guobadia’s past boasts of 42 years in America ring hollow now.
