An early Nintendo Switch 2 unit, complete with dock and Joy-Con controllers, has surfaced on China’s black market at an estimated price of 290,000 RMB (approximately $39,780). The unit, shared by a user on the Xiahongshu forums, is marketed for manufacturers to test accessories. Verification remains pending amid growing speculation.
According to reports (via WCCFTECH), early Nintendo Switch 2 consoles are being sold on the black market in China for an outrageous sum of money.
The Xiahongshu forums user who got their hands on a CAD model of the Nintendo system last year and gave us our first good look at its design before the official announcement last month published a screenshot, according to the Nintendo Switch 2 subreddit.
A conversation with a vendor on the illegal market is included, in which the seller states that the system, which includes a dock and Joy-Con controllers, can be purchased for 290,000 RMB, which is around $39,780.
The Xiahongshu forum user is selling the ability to test accessories on a real unit to manufacturers so that they have something going on to earn back the money that they have spent on the console. This is despite the fact that no average user would spend such a significant amount of money to get the console.

Despite the fact that there is no way to know for certain whether or not the user of the Xiahongshu forums actually possesses a real Nintendo Switch 2, it is highly likely that it will not take long to find out if this is the case. This is because the user posted the CAD model online after acquiring the console, and people are eager to learn more about the system before the Nintendo Direct broadcast on April 2nd.
Launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 is anticipated to take place at some point during this year. It has not yet been determined when the release window will be, but taking into account the fact that preview events will be held all over the world until the end of May, it is reasonable to anticipate that the release will take place in the second half of the year.
