Meghan Markle is clapping back in style. The Duchess of Sussex responded to podcaster Amanda Hirsch’s concerns about her Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” with a cheeky handwritten note, reassuring her that the backlash was all part of the process.
Meghan Markle Sends a Handwritten Note to Podcaster
Hirsch, known for her popular podcast “Not Skinny But Not Fat,” shared the personal letter from Markle on Instagram Wednesday. The note arrived two weeks after the series premiered and quickly gained traction.
“Dear Amanda, I heard you were feeling scared. Don’t be! This is the fun part — let’s enjoy it,” Markle wrote, adding a personal touch to the message.
The podcaster, 33, was clearly overwhelmed by the surprise correspondence. She posted a screenshot of her original comment expressing concern about the potential backlash Markle might receive for the show. In her caption, Hirsch declared she was “framing” the letter.
“Beyond shook. Beyond spiraling,” she wrote, adding that she even smelled the paper. She admitted she was now a lifelong fan of the former actress.
Markle’s Netflix Series Faces Mixed Reactions
Hirsch had previously voiced her apprehension about “With Love, Meghan” after its trailer debuted on Jan. 2. She noted that the footage felt “forced” and feared it might reinforce negative perceptions about Markle rather than dispel them. However, she emphasized that she was not a critic of the Duchess.
Despite skepticism, Markle’s show gained immediate traction. Within a week of its March 4 release, it reached over 526,000 U.S. households, according to Samba TV. It quickly secured a spot in Netflix’s top 10 rankings.
However, UK critics were far less enthusiastic. Some dismissed the series as “pointless,” while others took issue with Markle correcting guest Mindy Kaling for referring to her as “Meghan Markle” instead of “Meghan Sussex.”
Prince Harry Joins the Conversation
The series offers viewers a glimpse into Markle’s California lifestyle with Prince Harry and their children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3. Harry, 40, made a special appearance, praising his wife’s work and offering support throughout the season.
The series, part of the couple’s $100 million Netflix deal, has already been renewed for a second season. Production reportedly resumed in January.
Hirsch, despite her initial concerns, appears to be firmly on Markle’s side now, proving once again that the Duchess knows how to win over skeptics—one handwritten note at a time.
