Meghan Markle’s new Netflix lifestyle show is already causing controversy, as critics claim it closely resembles Pamela Anderson’s Cooking With Love. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, is set to debut her series, With Love, Meghan, but insiders are accusing her of borrowing too heavily from Anderson’s popular cooking program.
According to royal experts, Markle’s show follows a strikingly similar format, leading some to believe she is attempting to replicate Anderson’s success.
Too Close for Comfort?
Pamela Anderson, 57, has reinvented herself in recent years, moving away from her Playboy past and Hollywood scandals to become a beloved television personality. Her show, Cooking With Love, has been well received, thanks to its warm and engaging atmosphere.
However, critics believe Markle’s Netflix project is a near copy of Anderson’s format. Even the titles bear a resemblance, with Anderson’s Cooking With Love and Markle’s With Love, Meghan.
Majesty magazine editor Ingrid Seward noted that another controversy surrounding the Duchess emerges daily, with this latest issue focusing on her alleged imitation of Anderson’s series. Royal commentator Neil Sean took the criticism further, calling some of the show’s elements a “frame-by-frame copy” of Anderson’s.
Sean pointed out that Markle’s on-screen interactions, including high-fiving guests, seem to mirror Anderson’s approach. He also predicted the imitation would backfire, as audiences may lose interest in a concept they have already seen.
“People have already seen Pamela do it first,” an insider explained. “Meghan’s version may not hold up in comparison.”
Backlash Over Meghan’s New Image
Markle’s move into the lifestyle and cooking space has raised eyebrows, particularly as she continues to reshape her public image after stepping back from royal duties in 2020. Critics argue that she has struggled to establish an authentic brand, often appearing to borrow ideas from others.
Some royal watchers believe this latest controversy further damages her credibility. Markle has faced backlash in the past for projects that critics claimed lacked originality or sincerity.
“Every single day, another allegation regarding Meghan’s conduct seems to emerge,” a source revealed. “This time, it’s about her new show copying Pamela Anderson’s.”
Despite the criticism, Markle is moving forward with her Netflix deal, reportedly hoping to connect with audiences in a fresh and relatable way. However, with skepticism surrounding the project, only time will tell if her take on the lifestyle format will succeed—or if it will simply remind viewers of Anderson’s show.
