McDonald’s is celebrating its 50th breakfast anniversary with a $1 Egg McMuffin promotion on March 2 and nationwide expansion of bagel sandwiches. The company also announced Krispy Kreme doughnuts will expand to more locations.

During the year 1975, McDonald’s made its debut in the morning market with the introduction of its now-famous Egg McMuffin. In order to commemorate the sandwich’s golden anniversary, the Golden Arches are increasing their focus on breakfast by introducing new offers and expanding their menu assortment.

Joe Erlinger, the President of McDonald’s USA, referred to the breakfast menu as “a cherished tradition and cornerstone of our brand.” He also stated that the fast food company provides a “one-of-a-kind breakfast experience, anchored in great value and high-quality ingredients.”

Per ABC News, customers can choose from a wide range of breakfast items to get their day started, including the Egg McMuffin, crunchy hash browns, fluffy hotcakes, and sweet and savory McGriddles, among other alternatives.

In honor of National Egg McMuffin Day, which is celebrated on March 2, McDonald’s is providing customers with the opportunity to purchase an Egg McMuffin or Sausage McMuffin with Egg breakfast sandwich for just one dollar. This deal is only accessible through the McDonald’s app.

In addition, customers who order McDelivery through the app will be able to take advantage of a promotion that allows them to purchase one Sausage McMuffin with Egg and receive one free McMuffin.

Additionally, for the very first time, the well-known bagel sandwiches offered by McDonald’s, which include the traditional bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich as well as the steak, egg, and cheese sandwich, will be made available on menus across the country.

Furthermore, McDonald’s has made the announcement that it would be offering fresh Krispy Kreme doughnuts on the McCafé menu for the very first time in New York City, joining other big cities such as Chicago, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, and Louisville, Kentucky.

Additionally, by the end of 2025, more than half of all McDonald’s outlets in the United States will serve the sweet treat, and by the end of 2026, it will be available across the entire country.
