Reality TV star Lala Kent has officially settled her long-running custody dispute with ex-fiancé Randall Emmett, putting their daughter Ocean first.
Lala Kent Confirms Custody Battle Is Over
After more than three years of legal wrangling, Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent announced that her custody battle with Randall Emmett has finally come to an end. The reality star shared the news during a March 4 Amazon Live stream, saying the dispute had officially been resolved.
“You guys, the custody battle is over. It’s officially ended. We’re done with it,” Kent said, offering what she called her “tea for the day.”
While she did not disclose the specifics of the agreement, she emphasized that the settlement was made with their daughter Ocean’s well-being in mind.
A Hard-Fought Legal Battle Finally Ends
Kent and Emmett, who ended their engagement in 2021 when Ocean was just seven months old, had been locked in a contentious legal fight for years. Their breakup was surrounded by allegations of infidelity and financial misconduct against Emmett, making the custody negotiations even more complicated.
The reality star had previously described the legal battle as a nightmare, expressing frustration over the drawn-out process. However, with a settlement now in place, Kent expressed relief, saying she was “very, very happy” that they had reached an agreement focused on their daughter’s best interests.
Kent has been open about the emotional toll the custody fight took on her, revealing in past interviews that it was one of the most difficult experiences of her life. Now, with the matter behind her, she is looking forward to co-parenting in a way that benefits Ocean.
Co-Parenting After the Drama
Despite their tumultuous history, Kent and Emmett now seem to have found common ground when it comes to parenting their daughter. The reality star has made it clear that her primary focus is Ocean’s happiness and stability, regardless of past tensions with her ex-fiancé.
The resolution comes at a time when Kent is facing other major life changes, including her recent health struggles and the birth of her second daughter, Sosa, in September 2024. Balancing motherhood with personal challenges, Kent remains determined to create a positive environment for her children.
The settlement marks a new chapter for Kent, who has frequently spoken about her journey as a single mother. While details of the custody arrangement remain private, it is evident that both parents have committed to putting their child first.
With the legal drama finally behind her, Kent is ready to move forward and focus on raising her daughter without the stress of ongoing court battles.
