The 38-year-old pop icon opened up about the sentimental proposal on The Howard Stern Show, sharing that Polansky, 41, gave her two rings—one made from a single blade of grass encased in resin and the other, a massive oval-cut diamond.
She said both rings were meaningful, but the first one held a special place in her heart. She explained that no amount of money could replace something with such personal significance.
Romantic Inspiration Behind the Proposal
Gaga revealed that her fiancé’s choice of an unconventional proposal stemmed from a conversation they had long before he popped the question. She recalled that Polansky once asked her how she would want to be proposed to, and she jokingly told him to take a blade of grass from the backyard and wrap it around her finger.
On April 1, 2024, he did exactly that.
The Poker Face singer, who has been dating Polansky since 2019, said the simplicity of the moment made it even more special. Despite later receiving a multi-million dollar ring, she still cherishes the blade of grass band, wearing it stacked above her diamond.

The couple has kept much of their romance private, but their engagement became public when Gaga appeared at the 2024 Venice Film Festival wearing the enormous diamond ring. Experts estimate the oval-cut gem to be between 10 and 20 carats, with a value ranging from $500,000 to $2 million.
