Kim Kardashian is reportedly weighing a court battle against her ex-husband Kanye West after he released a song featuring their 11-year-old daughter, North West, without her approval.

According to TMZ, Kardashian is considering asking a judge to strip West of joint legal custody. The former couple, who finalized their divorce in 2022, currently share both physical and legal custody of their four children—North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.

Although Kardashian is not challenging West’s right to see the kids, she is allegedly concerned about his decision-making when it comes to their well-being.

West Ignored Private Custody Agreement

Sources close to the situation revealed that Kardashian called for an emergency meeting with their legal teams after discovering that West planned to release a song featuring North alongside embattled rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs.

West initially agreed not to release the track, titled Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine. However, he later went against his word and posted it on X (formerly Twitter), declaring that men “make the final decision.”

The Donda rapper also leaked text messages between himself and Kardashian, showing that she had pleaded with him to remove North from the song. She reportedly reminded him that they had agreed on this matter beforehand.

Custody Battle Intensifies Amid Kanye’s Public Rants

Following the song’s release, West lashed out on X, accusing the “Kardashian mob” of limiting his parenting rights. He compared their custody arrangement to being in “jail” and warned Kardashian that she should amend their legal agreement—or prepare for an all-out war.

In response, Kardashian emphasized that her only goal was to protect her children. She also reminded West that they had mutually agreed to trademark their kids’ names at birth to prevent outside parties from profiting off them.

West, however, appeared to dismiss her explanation. In the leaked messages, he told Kardashian, “You’re going to have to kill me.”

Kardashian Prioritizing Children’s Well-Being

Despite the drama, sources close to Kardashian insist that she is only acting in the best interest of her children. A family insider told Page Six that Kardashian wants her kids to have a relationship with their father but feels that West’s erratic behavior puts them at risk.

“Kim’s priority is the well-being and safety of her children and to protect them from being around Kanye’s controversial behavior,” the source said.

As tensions rise, it remains unclear if Kardashian will officially file for sole legal custody. However, given West’s recent actions, legal experts believe she may have grounds to argue that he is not fit to make decisions for their children.
