Jennifer Lopez is reportedly considering buying a house near a Los Angeles estate owned by her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, which has spurred rumors regarding the nature of their post-split relationship.
Though the couple is apart, sources say Lopez is still very committed to keeping Affleck close—not only for their blended family but also for the potential of restored love.
The 55-year-old singer and actress is currently living in Beverly Hills at the previous marital house she shared with Affleck. Reports indicate she is actively looking for a new home in Brentwood, a posh L.A. neighborhood where Affleck, 52, bought a $20 million mansion last year after their breakup.
Although Lopez has publicly said that co-parenting comes first, insiders say her choice of real estate is motivated by more than just family responsibilities.
An informant told us Jennifer is still very much in love with Ben, even though she behaves as though she is okay with this new chapter in their relationship. She allegedly wants to keep their connection strong and hopes they can maintain a bond similar to what Ben has with his first ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
Sources claim Lopez is still dedicated to finding a house in the area even if her present property transaction falls through; this raises questions among those who expected her to return to Miami or New York following the breakup.
Famously known as Bennifer, Affleck and Lopez resumed their early 2000s relationship in 2021 and married in 2022. Their highly publicized romance suffered, though, and last year they split.
Since then, Affleck has been spotted co-parenting with Lopez, usually seeing their kids for family vacations. Although their dedication to their children is evident, others think Lopez’s decision to relocate near Affleck’s house suggests she might not be ready to let go entirely.
A source said Ben’s a little overwhelmed by her refusal to let go. Many thought she would return to Miami or New York to be nearer her family and friends. She is surprised by staying in L.A.
