The president’s social media message coincided with sharp criticism over federal job cuts and secretive data leaks, intensifying debates on government efficiency and sparking widespread controversy nationwide, fueling a charged, partisan political climate.
The Raw Story reports that on Wednesday morning, Donald Trump began his day by expressing his gratitude to Elon Musk for his victory in the election.
More than a quarter of a billion dollars was spent by the tech mogul on Trump’s re-election campaign, and the president has credited Musk’s expertise in computer technology for his victory in the important state of Pennsylvania.
He went to Truth Social in order to deliver yet another shoutout to the person he referred to as his “first buddy.”
A link to another tweet that Trump had published on Monday at 2:58 a.m., in which he quoted former Fox News personality Bill O’Reilly, was included in that post by Trump.
After spending $277 million on Trump’s campaign, Musk, the richest man in the world, has seen his net worth increase by an estimated $154 billion. Additionally, he has been slashing thousands of government positions through his Department of Government Efficiency, which has not been very well received.
As a result of a recent survey, fifty-two percent of respondents are against Musk’s decision to terminate federal projects that he considers to be unneeded, while only twenty-six percent are in favor of this action.
Furthermore, forty-nine percent are against the work that Musk is doing within the federal government, while only thirty-four percent are in favor of it.
More than sixty-three percent of respondents expressed concern regarding the access that Musk’s team has had to government databases, which include information on Social Security, Medicare, and taxes.
On the other hand, only thirty-four percent of respondents stated that they were not concerned about this matter.
