Donald Trump has launched an aggressive crackdown on Latin American drug cartels, deploying military drones and spy planes in a covert surveillance mission over the U.S.-Mexico border. The former president is determined to dismantle the vast fentanyl networks responsible for thousands of American deaths, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Trump’s Military Tactics Against Cartels
Military sources revealed that the CIA has been conducting secret intelligence operations deep inside Mexico, targeting hidden drug labs. These surveillance missions have reportedly helped identify fentanyl production sites, fueling Trump’s vow to “wipe them off the face of the planet.”
Upon taking office, Trump immediately signed an executive order to crack down on cartel activity. A month later, he escalated efforts by designating eight Latin American criminal organizations as “foreign terrorist organizations.” Among those targeted are Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua, El Salvador’s MS-13, and six Mexican cartels.
Despite the covert nature of the operation, insiders suggest Trump may go even further by ordering armed raids into cartel-controlled territories. This potential move has drawn backlash from Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, who strongly opposes U.S. military intervention on Mexican soil.
Mexico Pushes Back Against U.S. Intervention
Sheinbaum made it clear that Mexico will not tolerate any foreign interference, stating that her government will reject any form of intervention, whether by “land, sea, or air.”
While the Mexican government remains defiant, U.S. military officials and national security experts support Trump’s approach. Retired Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely endorsed the intelligence-gathering missions and advocated for even stronger measures.
Vallely, who authored a Pentagon report titled Operation Sinaloa, believes special operations forces should be deployed to combat the cartels directly. He argued that Trump recognizes the need for a more aggressive strategy and that taking the fight to the cartels is the only way to win.
With tensions rising and surveillance missions already in motion, Trump’s war on drug cartels appears to be just beginning.
