Apple is reportedly finalizing suppliers for its foldable iPhone, expected in late 2026, with Samsung supplying OLED displays and Corning handling the glass. Doubt persists regarding the company’s claim of a crease-free screen, fueling industry speculation.

Choosing vendors to help mass produce the first foldable iPhone is reportedly something Apple is already doing. The Cupertino company is planning to introduce the device in the second half of 2026 after narrowing down potential contenders it believes will not skimp on quantity or quality.

Apple will have confirmed the suppliers for all the materials and components by April, according to a report published by ETNews. Details noticed by tipster @Jukanlosreve suggest that full-scale production will be underway by then.

Reportedly, the fact that every single one of Apple’s foldable iPhone prototypes had noticeable creases was a major factor in the company’s decision to hold off on launching one. A ‘book type’ design, rather than a clamshell one, and the knowledge that Samsung would supply the OLED are both revealed in the most recent release.

Corning is believed to supply the glass cover, while Amphenol is expected to supply the folding iPhone’s hinges. Although Apple has used the same supplier for hinges on earlier MacBooks, this time the components will be for an entirely different device.

The absence of a display crease is also mentioned in the report as being one of the most significant characteristics that will set the foldable iPhone apart from its predecessor.

It would appear that Apple is attempting to differentiate itself from its rivals; nevertheless, even if these assertions are accurate, WCCFTECH is adamant in its belief that the crease will be apparent when light is reflected off of it.

While the story did not specify a mass production date for the foldable iPhone, it is believed that Apple can have a commercial device ready by 2026 if it carefully selects its suppliers.

It is essential to take this information with a grain of salt despite the fact that all of these changes appear to be quite exciting. As always, we will come returning with additional updates as we get more information.
